Tennis club members hopeful about competing

There remains great uncertainty about sporting activities and events in the midst of the second Covid-19 wave.
Selection Park Tennis Club is doing its bit to keep its athletes fit and safe.
“We are back to organised social tennis according to the regulations, following level three rules,” explained Deidre Vrey of the club.
Some of the club members will play the Gauteng East tournament.

“The tournament starts on January 22 in Benoni and will take place over two weekends,” she said.
Many events on the sporting calendar for the last few weeks have had to be cancelled as part of precautionary measures required to curb the spread of Covid-19 in South Africa, but members of the club are hopeful they may be able to compete soon.
“At the end of February the club will participate in the Top Guns tournament in Benoni. After that we might start our club championships in March, but we haven’t yet decided the exact dates,” said Vrey.
