Local dancers receive Gauteng colours

These dancers, who were from Springs, Alberton and Benoni, will now form part of the Gauteng team for Solo Dance School Sport.

Dancers from all over the East Rand gathered last Friday evening at Laerskool Jan van Riebeeck to receive their Gauteng colours.
These dancers, who were from Springs, Alberton and Benoni, will now form part of the Gauteng team for Solo Dance School Sport.

This year’s entries and judging was done virtually due to Covid-19, but the dancers did not let that slow them down.
They represent the cream of the crop and receiving their Gauteng colours is a big achievement.
Speaking at the handover of the certificates, Mark Dooley, who represented Solo Dance School Sport, said this year was a learning experience for all involved – from the judges, the coaches and the dancers.

“We have all grown from this. Well done to all who went for the long haul.
“Tonight is proof that we’re getting it right,” said Dooley.
There were 12 dancers from Springs who made it into the Gauteng team.
