The woman was forced into the boot and the hijackers drove off with her.

A woman was forced to jump out of a moving vehicle to escape her attackers after she was hijacked on Bathurst Street in Reedville on Thursday evening.

Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora said the victim was sitting in her car, a white Kia Rio, with her boyfriend when she saw three men standing by the car.

One of the men knocked on the window with a gun, while another walked to the driver’s side of the car and instructed the woman’s boyfriend to open the doors and the boot, which he did.

Once the couple got out of the car, the hijackers ordered them to get inside the boot.

The boyfriend ran off, leaving the woman behind, and one of the hijackers chased after him and fired a shot in his direction.

The woman was forced into the boot and the hijackers drove off with her.

She managed to open the boot from the inside and jumped out of the moving car, sustaining injuries in the process.

The woman was also robbed of her cellphone and money.
