Woman attacked by robbers armed with knife, pliers

A woman was left with a slight injury to her knees and bruises to her wrists after a business robbery on Hills Road on Monday morning.
Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora said the victim was in her office with the security gate and inner door closed but not locked when she saw a man and a woman standing inside the office.

The man was armed with a knife and the woman, who was wearing a blue jacket featuring the City of Ekurhuleni’s emblem, was brandishing a pair of pliers.
The man told the victim to be quiet and threatened to kill her.
He then put his hand over her mouth and gagged her with an item of clothing.

The robbers, both of whom were wearing gloves, then tied the victim’s hands behind her back and pushed her to the ground.
They ransacked the office and fled with alcohol valued at R5 000, as well as two cellphones.
Once the pair ran off, the victim screamed for help and was rescued by a neighbour.
