Robbers spooked by security company vehicle

Security company thwarts Stubenvale business robbery

Six robbers broke into a Strubenvale factory last Saturday evening hoping to score big but only managed to get away with a spanner worth R2 800.
Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora said factory employees were working when they were suddenly confronted by six men, two of whom were armed with guns.

The men ordered the victims to sit down, and while on the floor, one of the victims managed to press the panic button.
The robbers’ accomplices outside spotted the security company van passing by and ran away.
No shots were fired and no injuries were reported after the robbery.
The men gained entry to the premises at the back of the property.
