Children tied up during Edelweiss house robbery

Children left unharmed after house robbery in Edelweiss

An 11-year-old boy and his 15-year-old sister were tied up during a house robbery in Edelweiss last Thursday afternoon.

Springs police spokesperson Amanda Greybe said the robbery took place at an address along Katjiepiering Avenue.

The teen was inside the house and the boy was playing in the garden when a black Hyundai i10 with three occupants stopped in front of the house.

The robbers approached the boy and forced him into the house.

They took the children into the bedroom and bound them with shoelaces taken from shoes in the house.

The pair was not physically harmed during the incident.

The robbers put on gloves before ransacking the home and helped themselves to a TV, a Wi-Fi router, two cellphones and a microwave.

They also took a white Nissan Navara bakkie parked on the property after finding the keys to the vehicle.

The value of the stolen items is approximately R75 500. No arrests have been made.
