Robber walks into home and leaves with 26k worth of goods

A woman was surprised to find a robber in her home at 2am last Tuesday, says Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora.

The complainant was watching TV and went to the toilet.

When she came back she saw a suspect in the house, who promptly demanded her cellphone.

The suspect threatened the complainant with a knife and took the cellphone.

He then proceeded to the entertainment room and took a laptop and a bicycle.

While he was in the other room, the complainant screamed for help, which woke her husband up, but when he went to look for the suspect, he had fled.

The suspect gained entry to the house through the back door, which was unlocked.

The value of the stolen items is R26 000.

There were no injuries reported during the robbery.
