Equipment stolen from Selection Park business

The total value of the stolen items is R33 650.

A Springs West Road business was broken into just before midnight on Saturday evening.

Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the security guard was guarding the premises when he noticed two suspects with a crowbar at the front door of the business.

The complainant flashed his torchlight at them and the suspects, who were wearing gloves and balaclavas, approached him and held him at gunpoint.

He was made to lie down and was tied up with his shoelaces.

The suspects then forcefully opened the door with the crowbar and on entering took two flatscreen TVs and the complainant’s cellphones and left.

The guard heard the sound of a vehicle driving off before untying himself and going to a room on the premises, where he woke up a colleague for help.

The total value of the stolen items is R33 650.
