Suspects fail to get money in ATM bombing

The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday morning.

An unknown number of suspects bombed an ATM on Butler Road in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Springs Police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says police received a report just after 2am that a Nedbank ATM at a shop next to the Excel garage had been bombed.

The money feeder of the ATM was damaged, but suspects did not succeed in getting money from the safe.

Members of the Explosive Unit from Germiston and the Springs Police Station commander all visited the scene.

No arrests have been made.
