Annual general meeting and awards meeting at Springs Old Boys Cricket Club

Springs Old Boys Cricket Club held their annual general meeting (AGM) and awards evening on Saturday night.

The meeting took place in a packed main hall where former chairperson Lionel Joubert opened the proceedings by summarising the past year.

ā€œCricket is a very long and expensive game, and I want to thank the parents who are willing to sit for long hours next to the field.ā€

He also expressed his admiration for the club’s growing pool of talent.

Joubert added that the club is in a good financial position and are looking forward to the year ahead.

Trophies were awarded for best batsmen, best bowler, best all-rounder and coaches’ choice to stand-out players.

In the Premier Group of players, the following players received awards for their performances:

ā€¢ Jayden Mostert for best bowler

ā€¢ Mark Joubert for best all-rounder

ā€¢ Devon Clarke for coaches award.

Coaches, parents and players alike were pleased with how their teams had performed and how their talents have grown over the years.
