CPF helps Molendam

Ward councillor Dean Stone says: "It's about time people stepped up to help Molendam.

Many residents in Molendam have felt unsafe over the years due to faulty lights resulting in regular break-ins.

Fearing for the safety of the elderly, Sectors One and Two CPsF with Manny Ferreira from the Holiday Inn Roadhouse stepped up to the plate and decided to help the residents by installing floodlights in the complex.

The CPsF also saw that many trees were overgrown, with branches hanging low over the palisade fences, providing hiding spots for criminals.

Hansie van Heerden and Eugene Fraser of the CPsF took it upon themselves to trim the trees and clean up around the complex.

Many members of the CPsF volunteered to help with the trees.

Van Heerden provided a truck at his own cost to transport and remove the discarded branches and Ferreira supplied the 12 LED lights.

“People here are very vulnerable and need some type of security to help keep them safe.”

The Sector One and Sector Two CPsF called a meeting with Mike du Toit (Chamber of Commerce chairperson) and Stone to discuss the state of the buildings.

After the buildings were inspected, they took their complaints to the metro.

These complaints include faulty geysers, loose ceilings and blocked toilets.
