Guards unharmed after robbery in Dersley

The guards were inside the guardroom when they were approached by a suspect armed with a gun.

Two guards were held up at the Dersley Dumping Site by an armed suspect on Sunday afternoon, says Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora.

A member of the public, who came to dump rubbish, took one of the guards to a nearby shopping centre to call the police.
