Wright Park garage robbed of R45 000

Security footage showed that there were three suspects involved and a Hyundai I10 with reg no HP76SCGP was used by the suspects.

A Wright Park garage is R45 000 poorer after a robbery on Tuesday afternoon.

Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the complainant was loading items in his car as he and his wife were preparing to go home.

At the next moment, two suspects, both with guns, appeared. They held him at gunpoint and asked where the money was kept.

They pushed the complainant inside the room where the till was.

The one suspect instructed the complainant that he must put all the money and airtime in a box before he pushed the complainant to the back office.

Once inside the office, the money that was in the drawer was also placed in the box.

One of the suspects emptied a box, and went inside and took cartons of cigarettes before the two fled.

Items stolen include R45 000 cash, cigarettes worth R3 000, airtime worth R2 000 and two cellphones worth R5 300.

No shots were fired during the robbery, and no injuries were reported.
