Cricketers battle it out under the summer sun

Springs cricketers took their places at the crease at Olympia Park as the league games get underway once again.

Despite the oppressive heat, the crickets played with their usual fervour and skills.

In total, six games were played on Sunday and the results go as follows:

Jolly Brothers put up a formidable total of 217-3 after their allotted 20 overs.

In reply, the Backstoppers were reduced to 85-7 after their 20 overs.

Spitbraai put up a total of 200-6 after their 20 overs, and the Tevogheto Bosses were not equal to the task with their paltry reply of 91-7.

In the third game, Raptures put up a total 100-8 after 17.3 overs and Spitbraai saw little trouble in meeting the total with 102 runs after just 13.4 overs.

In their game against Rampage, Rusty Ballies put 178 runs on the board for the loss of 3 wickets after 20 overs.

Rampage fell short of the task, ending up 153 -3 after 20 overs.

Favour8s put up 198-6 with the bat after 20 overs, beating Hulapalu Blazers who ended up 153-5 after 20 overs.
