Marie says that the secret to a happy marriage is love, trust and shared values.

“We are both Christians, and on our wedding day we declared that our marriage will be grounded in God,” says Marie.

When asked what advice they have for young people thinking of getting married, Marie says: “People should be very careful.

“The divorce rate today is very high and people should be very, very careful before they get married.

“They should be 100 per cent sure that the person they want to commit their lives to is the right person.”
