Elders made aware of gender-based violence

Members from the Springs SAPS provided entertainment by singing and playing games with the elderly.

Springs Senior Citizen Centre held their annual general meeting (AGM) on Friday afternoon.

The meeting was arranged by the SAPS, which also provided cake and juice.

The meeting opened with prayer and the chairperson’s report of a break-in that happened Monday night, where one computer was stolen.

The good news included the various funding facilities that had been approved and that the current committee has been contained and one extra member has joined.

Many thanks were shared and special thanks went to chairperson Bill Aver for his continued dedication to the care centre.

Amanda Greybe, Springs police spokesperson, says: “October is an elderly month, so we thought we could come here and celebrate our elderly.

“We are very grateful for Parkland Hospital for providing free check-ups and meals.”
