House robber found in prison is given another eight-year sentence

He had outstanding warrants in Brackensdown in Germiston for house break-in and theft and in Garsfontein for house break-in and theft and still has to go to court to face those charges.

 

“A serial house robber has been given another eight-year sentence for house break-in and theft by the Springs Regional Court,” says Springs Police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora.

Henry Mthunzi, who also used the name Patrick Funda and AKA, was caught after police traced fingerprints from a wine bottle he had left in the kitchen of a house he had broken into in 2010 in Springs.

When police ran his prints through the system, he was found in the Klerksdorp prison, where he was serving a 17-year sentence for house robbery in Potchefstroom, house break-in in Klerksdorp, house robbery and theft in Benoni, and house break-in and theft in Elsburg.
