Bobbies Youth Rugby Club hosts Annual Youth Rugby Day

The Senior Club’s first team is competing in the Valke Peregrine Tournament and will this Saturday be playing in the semi-finals, taking on NWU Pukke.

This past Saturday, the Bobbies Youth Rugby Club held its Annual Youth Rugby Day at the Springs Rugby Club’s premises in Olympia.

All the young players from the Springs Rugby Club, from u-9 to u-13, did exceptionally well, recording not a single loss for teams competing in the Valke League Tournament.

The Springs Junior Youth, which consists of u-6 to u-8 players, also performed well.

The Springs u-6 group won two of its games against Brakpan, with scores of 11-3 and 10-3.

The Springs u-7 group also excelled. One of its teams has remained undefeated for the entire 2019 season.

This past Saturday was no different as they beat Benoni by 11-1.

The Springs u-7s also played a game against Bobbies u-7, racking up an impressive score of 30-0.

The Youth teams’ scores in the Valke League Tournament were as follows:

• Springs u-9A 43 – 0 Suikerbos

• Springs u-9B 15 – 5 Kempton Park

• Springs u-10 52 – 0 Benoni

• Springs u-11A 13 – 0 Benoni

• Springs u-11B 5 – 5 Meyerton

• Springs u-13 Team 1 56 – 0 Meyerton

• Springs u-13 Team 2 51 – 5 Elsburg

The Springs Youth Rugby Club, including its Junior Youth Group, has grown tremendously and is one of the biggest rugby clubs within the Valke Rugby district.

Its high school age groups, u-14 to u-18, have started preparing for their games, but they are still willing to accept any high school boys wanting to play rugby.

The club will host its annual Youth Club Day on September 14.

This day will be filled with youth rugby and Springs unity.

Here again, Springs Youth Rugby Club will be competing against a minimum of 10 other clubs within the Valke Rugby District.

The youth section of Springs Rugby Club is not the only section of the club putting on an exceptional performance.

The Senior Club’s first team is competing in the Valke Peregrine Tournament and will this Saturday be playing in the semi-finals, taking on NWU Pukke.

Kick-off for this game will be at 4pm at the Springs Rugby Club.
