Woman viciously attacked in Pridgeon Avenue

A woman barely escaped with her life after she was brutally assaulted by a suspect during a break-in on Pridgeon Avenue, Selection Park, says Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora.

The victim’s husband was in the lounge with the couple’s three children when he heard his wife screaming from the kitchen.

Upon investigation, he found a suspect assaulting his wife with a pik on her head while another two suspects stood by.

The man fought with the suspect to rescue his wife while their domestic worker and children ran to the bedroom to hide.

The complainant followed the suspects and threw his pellet gas firearm at them.

The suspects drove a white Toyota Corolla.

The man’s wife sustained head injuries and was admitted to the Netcare N17 Hospital.

The CPF, paramedics and the police were on scene.

Suspects gained entry to the house via the main gate and front door.

Items damaged during the break-in are the TV, flower pot and TV stand.

The pellet gas firearm worth R2 500 is missing.
