Vita Nova Centre holds walk to raise funds

Various charities from around Springs, such as Kat-titude and the Rotary Club were present, setting up stalls and selling a variety of items and food.

The Vita Nova Centre held an annual run on Saturday morning and many residents showed up to take part.

Vita Nova is a home for mentally and physically challenged residents and those suffering from cerebral palsy, down syndrome and autism.

Director Michelle Immelman says: “We want to bring the community together.

“We want to encourage people to help those in need.

“The aim is also to raise funds.”

Macsteel is the centre’s biggest sponsor and helps them out a great deal.

Various charities from around Springs, such as Kat-titude and the Rotary Club were present, setting up stalls and selling a variety of items and food.

One family prepared fresh samoosas and Spring Rolls, while others offered home-made items, such as door stops, signs, cards and cookies.

All proceeds go to the centre to ensure the quality care of the residents.
