The Sandman is a most unusual little man.

Every evening it’s his job to sprinkle sand in the eyes of children everywhere to help them fall asleep.

On his nightly route, he visits the home of Mrs Mouse and her 12 children.

Mrs Mouse is at her wits’ end when the Sandman has to visit her home – climbing 72 stair each time – because her children keep waking up.

She can’t figure out why her children are so restless and comes to the conclusion that the Sandman’s sand is old and out of magic.

However, it soon becomes apparent the clanging of the bells in the church bell tower the mouse family call home is the real reason her little ones won’t settle.

A beautifully illustrated book with easy-to-read words, this is a must-have for young readers.

This book is suitable for children aged three to six.

The book is also available in Afrikaans as As Klaas Vakie se Sand nie werk nie.
