Annual general meeting for Eastern Gauteng Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Presenting the president's annual report for 2018, president Mike du Toit highlighted the chamber's successes during what he described as difficult economic times.
The Eastern Gauteng Chamber of Commerce and Industry held its annual general meeting at the Riverside Country Estate in Grootvaly on Thursday evening.
Members of the chamber attended the meeting and guest speaker Carl Schultz gave a speech on how to be a great leader.
Presenting the president’s annual report for 2018, president Mike du Toit highlighted the chamber’s successes during what he described as difficult economic times.
“The Business Linkage Centre (BLC), which facilitates the link between corporate business and small to medium enterpriseS, saw more than 2 000 visitors.
“One hundred and fifty new business registrations were processed and 45 companies assisted with changes to their companies.
“The BLC tax exemption application was also approved, which means donations towards the BLC are tax exempt,” says du Toit.
Du Toit says the chamber’s financial position improved marginally over the past year and it continued to push the metro in maintaining reasonable standards of service delivery.
