“The situation was tense as these were the last group games with teams trying to snatch the last stretch into the top four to qualify for the semi-finals.

“An interesting game was that of Spitbraai versus Rusty Ballies.

“The winner was to snatch the number-four spot on the log to qualify for the semis.

“Well done to Spitbraai, who won the game convincingly at 114-42,” says Last Man Stands administrator Owen Chistinho.

“The biggest score of the day was from Knuck Fows, who scored 199 against the Donkey Slongs.

“Round games for the season are now done.

“Well done to Beers & Tots, who finished top of the log with 128 points from their 14 games. Second is Donkey Slongs with 108 points.

“Third and fourth are Knuck Fows and Spitbraai respectively.”

These top four teams will be battling it out this Sunday in the semi-finals of the main cup.

“Good knocks of the day are from Niel de Wet of Knuck Fows 51/30, Dillen Crouse of Beers & Tots 50/33, Morne van Eeden of Knuck Fows 50/18 and Dewald van Rooyen of Knuck Fows 51/28.

“Superb with the ball were Leon van Vuuren of Knuck Fows 3/3/5 and Rashid MD of Springs Bengal Tiger, who took a fifer from his three overs and only conceded five runs.”

The finals will be held on March 10.

The biggest score of the day was from Knuck Fows, who scored 199 against the Donkey Slongs.
