Three of the Springs Rugby Club’s teams won this weekend at their Rugby Day at Olympia Park Stadium.

“The u-21s and the Zebras were impressive against Randfontein.

“But it was the Springs KWV first team that took the spotlight,” says first-team coach Ockert Brits.

The team beat Sishen (from the North West) 31-24.

“I am happy with their performance.

“A win is always good.”

The Springs KWVs are preparing for their Gold Cup match, to be played soon.

The Springs KWV first team (blue and black) put on a great show when they beat Sishen 31-24 on Sunday at their home ground.

Springs could not have done it without the likes of Wikus van der Berg who successfully made five tries.

Van der Berg was chosen as the player of the match.

“Divan van Zyl also showed his class and made a big impact.

“He made one of the tries when he stole a ball from the opponent.

“The hooker, Stanley Peacock, made two tries and Zach van Loggerenberg one.

“André Smith scored three threes to close the scoreboard,” says Brits.
