The music showcase, The Love Potion, is a fund-raiser for the non-profit organisation which runs several programmes to encourage and support fathers in playing more active roles in the development and upbringing of their children.

“We are delighted to play host to The Love Potion, which celebrates love and brings together some talented performers for a great cause.

“The concert will also showcase up and coming talent from Ekurhuleni.

“The name of the opening act will be revealed soon,” says Michelle Smith, Carnival City’s marketing manager.

The Cool Dad Foundation was established in 2012 by Bongani Luvalo and a network of friends in KwaThema to facilitate, promote, educate, advocate and support a culture of positive fatherhood by engaging with fathers and reminding them of their fundamental responsibility towards their children.

Their vision is to grow into a nationally recognised network of fathers with a passion for fatherhood in order to address the social ills stemming from absent fathers and reinstate the image of the man and the dignity of fatherhood in society.

The foundation relies heavily on the sponsorship and the support it receives from the public and caring companies in order to keep delivering its programmes in the community.
