Welgedacht Park now open to the public

Welgedacht Park is finally complete and was handed over to the community on Tuesday.

The park is the first of its kind in Welgedacht and residents were thrilled to finally be able to use the park.

“This park has been a long time coming.

“I’m really happy for the community and impressed with the quality of the work done.

“The community has already taken over ownership of the park so it will be in good hands,” says ward councillor Dean Stone.

The park has jungle gyms, picnic areas, a mini bike circuit and chess board.

It will be open 24 hours a day and is lit by solar-powered lights.

The park is on Welgedacht Avenue.
