Springs TS Cadets end year with prize-giving

Activities at the club will slow down during the festive season and it will officially reopen on the first Friday when schools open.

The Springs TS Cadets held their annual prize-giving ceremony on Friday evening.

Cadets of different ranks were rewarded for their hard work during the year and celebrated their promotions with officers and parents on the night.

Sub Lt Dorothy White says each cadet chose the field they want to specialise in.

“We have communication, first aid, engineering, catering, and seamanship. The cadets who won shone in those particular fields.

“For the first time, the Officer Commanding Trophy went to a parent because she had been so involved with the club and whatever we were doing. She was so involved, but all our parents are very involved,” says White.

White also credits officer Michael Taylor for his hard work with the cadets and attributes the growth of the club to him.

“He is the one who has events with the cadets every weekend.

“He has been indispensable and has brought life back into this place,” says White.
