Game to open at Springs Mall with new look and layout

From the time the ground was broken to build the Springs Mall, there have been rumours that Game would be opening in Springs.

After months of speculation, this is a rumour no more and Springsites can look forward to the opening of the town’s first Game on April 24.

The shop, which will be located where the underground parking was, will introduce Ekurhuleni shoppers to the retailer’s new look and layout.

When it opens, Game will become the fifth anchor tenant at the 50 000sqm Springs Mall, joining Checkers, Pick n Pay, Woolworths and Edgars.

The new Springs Mall Game store will span 3 600sqm and will be paired with a 120sqm Game Liquor.

Springs Mall is a joint venture between Blue Crane Eco Mall (Pty) Ltd, Flanagan & Gerard Property Development & Investment, JSE-listed retail REIT Vukile Property Fund and Murinda Investments, which is part of the Giuricich Bros Group.

“We are thrilled to introduce Game to Springs Mall on a long lease,” says Jonathan Shutte, director at Flanagan & Gerard, which also manages Springs Mall.

“Our shoppers have often told us that they would like a Game store in the mall, and we’ve listened to them.

“Our team engaged with Game’s senior management and, based on the mall’s ongoing successful performance that we could demonstrate in our regular communications with them, Game and Game Liquor chose to open at Springs Mall.”

The new Game completes the upper level retail mix, along with the 660sqm expansion of Springs Mall’s Planet Fitness Just Gym in response to high levels of demand from its customers.

The long-awaited launch of Game Springs Mall promises to include Game’s FoodCo, which will be a welcome addition for local shoppers, and its big range of ‘white goods’ will increase the retail variety at Springs Mall.

Game Springs Mall, easily accessible from Entrance 1, will also offer shoppers an innovative shopping experience.

Game is redesigning their stores and launching a fresh new look, and Game Springs Mall is earmarked to be among the first few Game stores in Gauteng to boast the new design.

The redesigned store layout will include consumer-friendly features including centralised till points and clutter-free shopping with lower fixtures to improve line-of-sight in-store.

“We look forward to being of service to our local consumers and will continue to bring them great deals long after the opening hype has settled down.”
