NG-kerk Circle Walk has it first go

Believers braved the early morning to do the walk aimed at bringing the community together.

The Nederduitse Gereformeerde (NG) Kerk Presidentsoord hosted its first ever Circle Walk in Petersfield on Saturday morning.

Believers braved the early morning to do the walk aimed at bringing the community together.

“Our intention is to pray for the community around the church as we walk.

“The people who are outside the church are just as important as our members,” explains Nerine Barnard, the event organiser.

The 5km walk drew people of all ages and fitness levels, and their dogs.

“It is not about the physical activity, but to show our devotion to Christ and our community,” she adds.

Barnard says they hope the event grows as they continue to invite their neighbours.

Members of the NG-kerk Presidentsoord braved the cold weather on Saturday to participate in the Circle Walk in Petersfield.

Starting outside the church’s gate, the participants walked through the suburb’s three main traffic circles, stopping to pray at certain points.

“We are happy with the turnout, and we hope to see the results of our prayers very soon.”
