Street lights not being switched off

I would like to show appreciation for the prompt installation of street lights in our area, at Mimosa and around Clivia Street by Cedar Valley Complex, close to Far East Rand Hospital.

It now feels safer driving and walking around just before sunset.

The project was unexpected and yet well delivered.

However, since these street lights were installed approximately six months ago, they have been switched on day and night without fail.

This is worrying as a lot of energy is wasted during the day unnecessarily.

And one wonders how long it will take to replace new bulbs one day.

Can’t someone be responsible to switch them off in the morning, to prolong their lifespan?

This is just my sincere concern as we cannot afford not having lights anymore, seeing there’s new development in the area.
