East Rand Children’s Fund needs help with electricity and telephone bills

“Luckily we have a gas stove so we have been able to prepare food for the children,” says Sarie Olivier who runs the organisation.

The East Rand Children’s Fund in Geduld has been without electricity and a telephone for two months.

The electricity for the organisation was blocked after they could not pay their water bill.

The organisation relies on the telephones to appeal for donations from the public and have been using their cellphone in the meantime.

“We feed between 80 to 100 children from birth until the age of 18, some of whom are from local schools including WK du Plessis and Pam Brink, once a day.

“We also go as far as Payneville, Sundra, and Brakpan.

“Luckily we have a gas stove so we have been able to prepare food for the children,” says Sarie Olivier who runs the organisation.

The organisation is appealing for any assistance from the public and are willing to give those who donate a section 18A receipt.
