Metro says renovations done last week in flat in Olympia Palms

“The Lecordeur family say thank you very much for renovating our unit,” says Johan.

Last week The Addie reported that Johan and Riana Lecordeur were living in a tent on the grounds of the Olympia Palms flats in Geduld after being asked to move out of their flat so that renovations could be done.

They Lecordeurs found themselves in a limbo as they were not given an indication of when the renovations on their flat would commence after the work on it was disrupted.

Spokesperson for the Ekurhuleni metro Themba Gadebe says they were aware of the situation, but it must be noted that the contractor was to work on one room at a time, while the family occupied a vacant room.

“The contractor was advised that they were to attend to one room at a time, meaning that should they paint the bedroom, the Lecodeurs were to move their belongings into different rooms until all rooms had been attended to.

“All communications and arrangements were done between the Lecordeur family and the contractor, and came to an agreement that the renovations would be done by last week Friday,” says Gadebe.

The Lecordeurs confirmed that the renovations were done on Friday.

“Friday night was our first night in.

“The Lecordeur family say thank you very much for renovating our unit,” says Johan.
