Hero policemen honoured by Springs SAPS management

“We are changing the lives of the community and I am looking forward to working with my fellow call members in making the community safer,” says Thobejane.

Local policemen Constable Samuel Skatane, Sergeant Setjakadume Thobejane, Sergeant John Trevor Nkuna and Constable Solomon Fiki Mtshweni were honoured by Springs Police management on Thursday morning at a prize-giving ceremony.
The quartet rescued a three-year-old girl who was stranded on an island in the Blesbokspruit last month.

Brigadier Thembeka Gwebushe of Springs Police Station was proud and full of praise for the way the policemen took the initiative and went beyond the call of duty to help the child.
Thobejane, who spoke on behalf of the policemen, says, “We are very happy about this recognition.
“We are changing the lives of the community and I am looking forward to working with my fellow call members in making the community safer.
“Thank you.”

Also honoured at the ceremony was Arles Baloyi for his service to the community as the Sector Six chairperson.
