Springs Town Bowling hosts annual awards ceremony

Celebrations were underway at Springs Town Bowling.

The Springs Town Bowling Club held their annual awards for the 2016/17 year to give recognition to their players and their outstanding work.

All the players, who are members of the bowling club, stood a chance to win a trophy or medal in their respective categories.

All the members and players of the club were in attendance and anxiously waited to hear their names to be called for a medal or trophy.

All in all there were 15 categories with many entries from all club players.

Within those 15 categories that the players could enter there was an overall of 19 winners, most winning more than one trophy or medal.

The club only has this one awards ceremony every year and players work tirelessly to get recognised on this particular day and go down in history as one of the greats to have ever been part of the bowling club.

There are approximately 50 players within this bowling club, which means that the competition is tough as members play against many other people who have different strengths.

Isaac Hattingh, who is a member of the bowling club, says he feels the awards were a huge success and that people enter the competition because it is a huge deal to become a champion and it takes a lot of hard work and dedication.

Amongst the 19 winners were Dirk Coetzee, who is the club president, Talitha Coetzee, John Moluphi who bagged seven medals, Tokkie Hattingh and Isaac Hattingh.

Many other winners also celebrated their wins.

The club is very proud of all their prayers and looks forward to the new competitive year.
