The Family Book Club starts at the Springs Library

”We then create our own story based on the genre we were reading that month,” says Kandaba.

The winner of The Avenues Youth Entrepreneurs Competition Shandu Kandaba has set up his own book club.

“I wanted to focus on the fact that books are meant to stimulate the imagination, so I formed The Family Book Club.

“We focus on one genre a month and we meet once a month and review the books we read.

“After that, each person then has to create their own story based on the genre we were reading that month.

“The winner then gets a free book,” says Kandaba.

Kandaba, who won a computer with his idea hopes to grow his book club and encourage a love of reading in others.

The book club is for people aged 13-25 and they meet at the Springs Library Auditorium.
