Victory of 5-2 for SOB

The Springs Old Boys u-9 soccer team played against Benoni All Stars, division two during the Eastern Gauteng Football League at the Springs Old Boys Club on Sunday.

Raking in the goals, Springs Old Boys won with a 5-2 victory.

The team managed to score two goals during the first half, leading 2-1 at half time.

Having an intense discussion with them during half time, coach Ross McAllister pointed out the other team’s strengths and how they could play around that.

He encouraged them to correct their faults and bag the win for Springs.

Ricardo Bonaretti scored a goal for the Springs Old Boys u-9 team on Sunday while playing against the Benoni All Stars, helping his team to up the score to 5-2.

The boys upped their score during the second half with three more goals and cemented the victory for Springs.

Ricardo Bonaretti scored two goals for the Springs Old Boys team, Boitumelo Nkhumishe scored two more goals and Tshepo Msiza scored one goal.

McAllister says the boys played an excellent game.

“All the hard work in and out of practice is paying off and they played extremely well,” he says.

He gives proud credit to Gabriel Lotter saying, “He made three fantastic saves” for the team.

They will be playing at home again on July 1 in the Cup Competition.
