Selection Park resident’s dogs die after poisoning

Jenny Beirowski is warning other pet owners after her two pets were poisoned last Wednesday morning.

“My two dogs, Chan and Felipe, went out at about 3.30am and one barked.

“They then went into the corner and ate something.

“When I called them, I saw that one had started foaming at the mouth and had muscle tremors.

“We rushed her to the vet but we couldn’t save either of them,” says Beirowski.

Beirowski is devastated by the loss of her bull-terrier and Bassett-cross because she has had them from when they were puppies.

Devastatingly, Beirowski’s brother-in-law also had his dogs poisoned on the same day in Springs Extension, but he was able to save their lives as he treated them with activated charcoal.

The poisoned liver given to the dogs has been sent to the labs for testing to find out what kind of poison was used to kill the dogs and Beirowski and her brother have reported the matter to the police.

“I just want to warn other people that there is something like this that is happening in our town.

“People must watch their pets carefully,” says Beirowski
