Gingers Golf Day at Pollak Park Golf Club
The Gingers Golf Day at Pollak Park Golf Club on Saturday started on a frosty note as the temperature dropped to minus one degrees with thick frost on the course.
The first two hours of play were tremendously challenging as players’ hands were frozen and the greens were iced over making playing really difficult.
In spite of this, some good scores were recorded and the 48 players who teed off all enjoyed the golf after the warm winter sun appeared.

The course is still in really good shape and the rains this past week have softened the ground nicely to make the going very comfortable and not hard as is usually the case in winter.
Ronald de Beer won the competition with 40 points.
In second place was Kosie Bouwer with 36 points.
Harvey Scott was third with 36 points.
Nearest the pin was Gary Dryden.
Longest Day award went to Gerhard Stroebel from Colin O’ Brien, the Gingers Day convenor.
