Man murdered during robbery in Wright Park

A 27-year-old man was murdered during a business robbery in Wright Park on Thursday at 7.45pm.

The complainant was busy talking on the phone with the deceased when he heard him arguing with someone.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, the spokesperson for the Springs police, says the line then went dead and the complainant could not hear what was happening anymore.

“The man became suspicious and phoned his brother to call the owner of the house, from where the deceased ran the tuck shop, in order to check on him.”

The owner allegedly went and called the man’s name, but there was no answer and the doors were closed.

According to the brother of the complainant, he saw two suspects jump over the fence and run away when he rushed to the scene.

They found the deceased alone in the container.

He had been hit with an unknown object on his right temple.

An unknown amount of money was stolen.

Cases of business robbery and murder were opened at the Springs Police Station.
