Robbers leave behind half of loot during business robbery in New Era

Robbers flee with stolen goods, only to leave half behind at entry point.

A business robbery took place at a glass manufacturing company in New Era at 1am last Friday.

The complainant was on duty at the tyre store when two suspects approached him, armed with a pistol.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, spokesperson for the Springs police says the suspects took the complainant to a container and tied him up with a piece of wire.

“The suspects fled the scene with four truck tyres valued at R11 600, as well as a hand radio and the complainant’s phone,” he says.

The complainant managed to free himself and went to security on the premises.

They started searching the premises and found the fence cut at the back of the company and neighbouring business.

“At the fence, they found the complainant’s phone and two of the truck tyres along with a side cutter.

A case of business robbery was reported at the Springs Police Station.
