School searches welcomed by teachers

The Social Crime Prevention Unit, Communication Unit, EMPD and rangers conducted a school search at Springs Boys’ High School last Wednesday.

According to Capt Johannes Ramphora, the purpose of the search was to address bullying, drugs and theft at the school.

“The operation was conducted at 10am and yielded good results.”

Police recovered one knife, four boxes of matches and two packets of cigarettes.

“The school staff were thrilled by the operation which aims to make school premises a conducive environment for learners to be educated.”

Station commander Brig Thembeka Gwebushe applauded the Social Crime Prevention Unit for the initiative.
