Far East Rand Hospital hosts awards for retirees and long-serving employees
Retirees and long-serving employees enjoy a fun day at Far East Rand Hospital.
Far East Rand Hospital held their Transformation Journey Awards on March 15 to celebrate the contribution made by retired employees and long-serving employees over the years.
The awards were just a small show of appreciation by the hospital towards their dedicated employees and a celebration of the lives they have saved.
The joyful occasion was filled with laughter, food and music as the awards attendees enjoyed being pampered.
Keynote speaker for the day, Ashley Mthunzi was full of gratitude for the retirees and told them “you have done all you can to better the lives of people.
“Until the last day, you didn’t flinch.
“You raised your hand and said I am here.
“Even when your body was sore, you came to work because there were people depending on your service.
“No amount of gold or money can say thank you enough.”
Mthunzi also thanked the families of the retirees for releasing them to come to work at Far East Rand Hospital.
The retirees were full of joy and planned to enjoy their time with family and friends now that they had extra time on their hands.
Matsidiso Mahlangu who worked at the Far East Rand Hospital for 24 years says, “I feel so happy now that I have retired.”
Anna Senegal, who spoke on behalf of the retirees reminded all in attendance that there was life after retirement and thanked the management for the appreciation shown towards them.
