Knuck Fows vs Panthers go all out at Olympia Park Stadium

Knuck Fows and Panthers went head to head at Olympia Park Stadium.

The Knuck Fows and the Panthers went all out in a battle for dominance in the LastManStands League competition at Olympia Park Stadium.

The 20-over game started at a fast pace and both teams wanted to assert their dominance early on and end the 2017\2018 season on a high.

The Knuck Fows beat the Panthers by 22 runs.

The final figures were Knuck Fows 143/7/20 and the Panthers was 121/6/20.

In other results, Willowmore 191/6/20 beat the Mixers 110/6/20.

Benoni Bench Warmers 152/5/20 won against Gemengde Bende 145/3/20.

Panthers 129/8/16 lost to the Jolly Brothers 130/7/20.

Willowmore’s win sees them jump to the top of the log sitting on 126 points from 18 games.

In second place is Benoni Bench Warmers sitting on 124 points from 18 games.

The standings can change though as Liebherr Legends still have a game in hand and they are sitting on top with 123 points.

A win this Sunday will see them claiming their top spot on the log.

Quickest 50 came from Klaas Smit of Willowmore who scored 55 runs off 23 balls.

Top batting as well from Leon Van Vuuren of Benoni Bench Warmers who made 60 runs off 41 balls, Daniel Andrews from #8 scoring 71 runs off 40 balls, Phillip Brink of Benoni Bench Warmers scored 50 runs off 40 balls and Lodie Greef of Jolly Brothers who made 57 runs off 28 balls.

An extraordinary effort from Elvis Munyoro of Jolly Brothers who stirred his team to their first victory of the year in the LastManStands League.

Batting alone and needing six runs to win from three balls.

Munyoro did a cover drive for a four and then hit the second last ball into the covers and running two runs and claiming a victory for Jolly Brothers.

It was a jovial celebration for the team and praises poured for Munyoro from the captain Raymond Dupres.

February 3 see the last round games of the 2017/2018 season.

Semi-finals and finals will be on February 11 at Olympia Park Stadium.

The new season will start on February 18.

It will be a family day with a jumping castle for the kids and music all day.

Winning team of the day will win a trophy and gold medals and runners-up will receive silver medals.

A special prize of a brand new bat worth R6 000 sponsored by TSG Toughened Glass will be handed over to the best batsman of the season.

Contender for this prize is Klaas Smit of Willowmore who has been superb with the bat this season.
