Springs police are looking for two men who were given a lift to Reedville in a Toyota Corolla on Wednesday.
The owner of the vehicle and his girlfriend left Boyes Street, New Era at 7.30pm, and were on their way to Reedville.
According to Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesperson, two men stopped the driver and asked for a lift to Reedville.
On the corner of Ottawa Street and Porta Nova Lane, they pulled out firearms and demanded the woman’s handbag.
“The men instructed the owner of the Corolloa and his girlfriend to get out of the vehicle and drove off,” says Ramphora.
The two suspects left them stranded.
Police are investigating a case of hijacking.
