First Christmas Night Market hits Springs

The first Christmas Night Market took place at ‘Die Agterplaas’ in Lodeyko on Saturday.

Zeldine Bornman, one of the organisers of the event, says it was almost cancelled due to the weather, but she’s happy the day turned out for the better.

“Neelsie the Little Train brought Santa Claus (Ben Raubenheimer) and his little elf (Zilke de Oliveira) to visit the children at the Christmas Night Market,” says Zeldine.

Santa Claus and his elf gathered all the children’s Christmas wishes and made dreams come true.

The Little Achievers Pre-School entertained everyone with their excellent concert full of excitement and laughter.

“We had the Springs Potjie Challenge, the first of its kind, judged by Charlene Ronquest, Miss Springs 2017.

“We’d like to congratulate the winner Rocco van Schalkwyk as his potjie had all wanting more.”

The host for the day was Cowboy Ben from a radio station.

“We are proud to say we ended our themed market on a high note and we’ll most definitely kick off 2018 with a bang!

“We’d like to thank the public for attending and all your support throughout 2017,” says Zeldine.
