A successful day it was for the Moondogs

Eastrand motorbike clubs came together on September 30 at the Springs Old Boys to support the bikers day jol hosted by Moondog Motorcycle Club.

More than 50 motorbike clubs attended Moondogs Motorcycle (MC) Club Day Jol on September 30 at Springs Old Boys club.

“This year more than 400 people were expected to join, and I’m very happy with the support we’re receiving, especially seeing that the weather was a bit upset during the whole week,’’ says the president of Moondogs MC, Keith Blakmore.

The day jol was not just about bikers coming together, but also about contributing to the community.

“With all the money raised, we donate a portion to charity organisations as a way of giving back. Because of our tight schedules we hardly have time to do much for the community on an everyday basis, so the little we do fills that gap.”

President of Just Numbers Motorbike Club Thea Malan says events like these are a great way to keep the spirit going among bikers.

“Day jols allow us to come together to celebrate ourselves as bikers,” says Malan.

“When we gather it’s like a team-building for all of us, which also unites us.

“Hence we make sure that we go all out for our events.”

A line-up of live bands entertained the bikers throughout the day. There were beer tents and many food stalls as well.

Children were accommodated with jumping castles and lots of treats were available to keep them in the spirit of the day.
