Champion returns from Thabazimbi

The United Martial Arts International Springs fighters recently returned from a fight night in Thabazimbi.

Sensei Jaun Naudé says their fighters did exceptionally well, in what he calls the biggest night of the year.

“For their first full contact ring fights they fought like champs,” he says.

Hannes Castelyn came back with a first place win in the K1 full contact ring fight, with a knock out in the first round and received the title of K1 full contact champion.

Taking second place in the ring fight was Jimmy Oberholzer.

Shanté Castelyn and Diwan Groenewald also took second place in the full contact ring fights in their respective categories.

Due to a knee injury during preparation for the Thabazimbi fight night, Pieter Groenwald could not participate and had to undergo an operation.
