High-speed chase ends on N17

SAPS chase leads to arrest of three suspects.

Springs police pursued a vehicle from Pollak Park to Brakpan after a house break-in was reported in Pollak Park on Tuesday.

When a woman from Marsabit Street noticed three suspects at her gate at noon, she immediately called the police and pressed the panic button.

Sector police who were on routine patrols, noticed the description of the vehicle as well as the suspects and gave chase.

SAPS spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says they tried to stop the vehicle, but the suspect driving the vehicle accelerated, which led to a high-speed chase.

Police gave chase to the N17 highway where they managed to stop the vehicle.

“Three suspects were apprehended on the scene,” says Ramphora.

Three suspects are currently being held at the Springs police cells. They were arrested for attempted house robbery, on Tuesday.

Police found three screw drivers, two pairs of gloves and R20 000 in cash in the vehicle.

“The suspects, aged between 21 and 26 years, are from Reiger Park in Boksburg,” says Ramphora.

Police are still investigating a case of attempted house robbery.

Ramphora says they are not sure where the money came from.

The suspects will appear in court soon.
