Business treats epilepsy residents

A local business reaches out to epilepsy residents.

The 105 residents at SA Epilepsy in Geduld were spoiled by a local business on Friday.

When the group arrived at the centre they quickly got the braai fires ready to braai boerewors for the residents.

Each resident received a boerewors roll and a cold drink.

Magdaleen Kruger, centre director, says the residents and 100-day workers were overwhelmed by the kindness of these people.

“The business’ idea was to rather get all the residents involved instead of concentrating on an area,” she says.

All the residents were waiting in the hall on the premises when the group arrived.

“The residents are always eager to meet new people and to pose for a photo or two,” says Kruger.

She explains they cannot braai on a regular basis, but stick to a well-planned nutritious eating plan.

“This was a good change of menu for the residents and they thoroughly enjoyed the food and all the attention,” she says.

She is aware organising such an event takes a lot of planning.

“We are truly grateful for their kindness and how they reached out to the residents,” says Kruger.
