Suspects gain entry of complex through palisades

A Pollak Park resident was overpowered by three suspects at 12.30am, on Friday.

He allegedly heard a noise at his flat in St Andrews Street and opened the curtain to investigate.

SAPS spokesperson, Capt Johannes Ramphora, says by then the suspects had already tried to open the front door.

“The owner tried to close the door, but the suspects pushed open the door and assaulted the man with a steel pipe,” he says.

When the man ran out the sliding door he screamed for help in the hope the security guards in the complex will hear him.

Ramphora says when he returned with the guards, he found the suspects had already taken his TV, laptop, clothes cellphone, cosmetic bag and vehicle keys.

The suspects gained entry to the premises by bending the palisades.

SAPS are investigating a case of house robbery.
